Margin and Keeping It All Together

http://traffic.libsyn.com/bravemoms/Margin_and_Keeping_It_All_Together_EP_10.mp3

Podcast: Play in new window | Download

How do you keep it all together as a mom? Margin is key but not many of us make time and space into our to-do lists for the unexpected. We don’t write in the toddler’s tantrums or the sibling squabbles so we get frustrated when they happen. Margin allows you the space you need to deal with these inevitable interruptions in life as a mom with grace and intention. Building margin into your day will change your life as a mom.

IN THIS EPISODE:

  • What are the interruptions in your days that you can make space for? What are the things that keep reoccurring that leave you frustrated?
  • Being in control is a myth
  • Margin is creating mental space and time space for you to not be in control
  • Margin also allows space for creativity, renewal, refreshing and fun
  • Psalms 46:10
  • Psalms 27:33
  • 1 Peter 5:7

QUESTIONS TO PONDER:

  1. What would margin look like in your daily life?
  2. Is there anything you would have to remove from your daily life to give you more margin?
  3. Take a deep breath and stop listening to the lies of failure when mothering is hard.
  4. Where does the guilt of unplanned or restful time come from for you?

I’ve never known a mom who was completely ready I’ve never known a mom who was completely ready to be a mom. Who had it all together and wasn’t caught off guard by some aspects of motherhood. I’ve never mentioned to a friend that motherhood was tough and had her disagree with me. I’m not sure that any woman, no matter how prepared she is, has gotten it all right, believed all the right things about herself, never doubted her calling or success as a mom or felt she made all of the right decisions each time she was faced with one. Maybe you’ve felt like you were the only one who feels like it is hard but I promise you are not alone in that feeling.

Next Tuesday 9/15, we are beginning a Brave Moms online group for any mom who’s felt a little (or a lot) weary and is desperate for truth that helps her lay down her burdens. We’ve been helping moms do just that in our small groups for years now and we’d love for you to join us this time online. We are confident that God is going to meet with us and and transform us all into Brave Moms. Look for the link in our bio to join the Facebook group or comment below and we’ll message you a link to join. Tag your mom friends that could use the encouragement. xoxo

All of the above or something completely different? We want to hear from YOU! As we plan we want to keep you and your needs in mind. Let us know your thoughts in the comments or DM us and stay tuned for some exciting opportunities we have coming up for you!!
Going back to school is the beginning of a new rou Going back to school is the beginning of a new routine and requires adjustments (whether it’s at home or in person). And, mama, you get to have grace for yourself as you adjust and as your kid(s) adjust. You may be extra tired. You may feel like you’re at your max but speak kindly to yourself and give yourself lots of grace. Take breaks, do things that cultivate peace in your heart. Don’t forget that you NEED Jesus like you need oxygen. You will adjust. Your kids will adjust and it will all be OK. Take a deep breath and breath in grace today.
If you are desperate for peace, get close to Jesus If you are desperate for peace, get close to Jesus. If you need joy, be still and call His name. If you need someone to be gentle with you right now let Him know you need to hear from Him. If you could use some kindness and goodness in your life press your ear to His heart and believe what He’s telling you. If you need to know He’s going to be faithful to you today and in the coming days, tell Him you need Him to show up. If you desire self control lean in to His presence. ⁣
⁣
The fruit of the Spirit is the character of God. It’s who He is. And when we get close to Him we become more and more like Him. If you need Him just ask Him to show you how near and available He is. ⁣
⁣
You are loved. God’s presence is available to you here and now.
2020 has been rough y’all but we are doing it. W 2020 has been rough y’all but we are doing it. We are making it and we are going to come out of this year stronger than ever!
