Motherhood is hard but that doesn’t necessarily mean you are doing it wrong. How do you keep going when it’s hard? This week we are going to discuss why it’s hard and how to gain perspective that helps you when it is hard.
It’s ok that it’s hard and that you don’t have all the answers. You haven’t messed it up.

IN THIS EPISODE:

  • Psalm 91:4
Take a deep breath and stop listening to the lies of failure when mothering is hard.
Challenge: when hard circumstances arise decide to see them as an opportunity for growth.

Do You Like Yourself? (EP 8)

http://traffic.libsyn.com/bravemoms/Do_You_Like_Yourself__EP_8.mp3

Podcast: Play in new window | Download

Has anyone ever asked you if you like yourself? What would your honest answer be to that question? God loves who He made you to be and He will use your learning to like yourself to help you be a better mom. Let’s dive into learning to love and like ourselves today.

IN THIS EPISODE:

  • Psalm 139:14
  • Matthew 22:39

Loving yourself means

  • You set healthy boundaries for yourself
  • You are thankful for your life and understand you have a purpose
  • You agree with God about what He says about you in His Word
  • You make time and space for the dreams God has given YOU (even if that means telling others no when they ask you to do things)

Liking yourself means

  • No matter how you look or what your limitations are you still feel value and worth
  • You can see all the good other people have going on and be happy for them without their success diminishing your own sense of worth.
  • You are able to laugh at yourself and not take life so seriously
  • You take time to get to know yourself – what you really enjoy and desire
  • You are able to rest and not feel guilty about it because rest is truly a need
  • You can wear what you want because you like it without feeling like you have to fit in and wear what you think others are going to like best.
  • You have grace for your own body to look how it does

Overcoming the Temptation to Numb In Motherhood (EP 7)

http://traffic.libsyn.com/bravemoms/Overcoming_the_Temptation_to_Numb_In_Motherhood_EP_7.mp3

Podcast: Play in new window | Download

Do you ever find yourself numbing in motherhood? Motherhood is hard and there are many ways we can attempt to cope that numb our senses and don’t allow us to fully heal from the pain in our lives. In this episode, we are discussing why we numb, how we numb and how to overcome so that we can be truly free.

IN THIS EPISODE:

  • John 16:33
  • Isaiah 63:9
  • 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
  • Psalm 34:18

QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF:

What pain are you numbing?

What are you using to numb your pain?

Has the thing you use to numb with really helped you?

Do you have good, positive feelings associated with what you are using to numb with that perhaps you need to disassociate with?

I’ve never known a mom who was completely ready I’ve never known a mom who was completely ready to be a mom. Who had it all together and wasn’t caught off guard by some aspects of motherhood. I’ve never mentioned to a friend that motherhood was tough and had her disagree with me. I’m not sure that any woman, no matter how prepared she is, has gotten it all right, believed all the right things about herself, never doubted her calling or success as a mom or felt she made all of the right decisions each time she was faced with one. Maybe you’ve felt like you were the only one who feels like it is hard but I promise you are not alone in that feeling.

Next Tuesday 9/15, we are beginning a Brave Moms online group for any mom who’s felt a little (or a lot) weary and is desperate for truth that helps her lay down her burdens. We’ve been helping moms do just that in our small groups for years now and we’d love for you to join us this time online. We are confident that God is going to meet with us and and transform us all into Brave Moms. Look for the link in our bio to join the Facebook group or comment below and we’ll message you a link to join. Tag your mom friends that could use the encouragement. xoxo

Do you need more podcast episodes that speak to your season as a mom? Do you need a Bible Study to grow in your walk with God or daily devotions to remind you of how present He is in your day? All of the above or something completely different? We want to hear from YOU! As we plan we want to keep you and your needs in mind. Let us know your thoughts in the comments or DM us and stay tuned for some exciting opportunities we have coming up for you!!
Going back to school is the beginning of a new rou Going back to school is the beginning of a new routine and requires adjustments (whether it’s at home or in person). And, mama, you get to have grace for yourself as you adjust and as your kid(s) adjust. You may be extra tired. You may feel like you’re at your max but speak kindly to yourself and give yourself lots of grace. Take breaks, do things that cultivate peace in your heart. Don’t forget that you NEED Jesus like you need oxygen. You will adjust. Your kids will adjust and it will all be OK. Take a deep breath and breath in grace today.
If you are desperate for peace, get close to Jesus If you are desperate for peace, get close to Jesus. If you need joy, be still and call His name. If you need someone to be gentle with you right now let Him know you need to hear from Him. If you could use some kindness and goodness in your life press your ear to His heart and believe what He’s telling you. If you need to know He’s going to be faithful to you today and in the coming days, tell Him you need Him to show up. If you desire self control lean in to His presence. ⁣
⁣
The fruit of the Spirit is the character of God. It’s who He is. And when we get close to Him we become more and more like Him. If you need Him just ask Him to show you how near and available He is. ⁣
⁣
You are loved. God’s presence is available to you here and now.
2020 has been rough y’all but we are doing it. W 2020 has been rough y’all but we are doing it. We are making it and we are going to come out of this year stronger than ever!
